Lhasa Apso

The hairiest of all toy breeds existing in Nigeria & has gained tremendous admiration from Nigerians especially young ladies. Always looking like a natural statue. Lhasa Apso dog is very loyal to their owners and less aggressive to strangers. You can actually carry them as they are barking at you. They are very funny looking with their ever growing hairs covering their eyes. They are best indoors as a close pet that replace dolls and teddy bears. Constant hair care or grooming is very important to achieve the best aesthetic potential of this breed.

Samoyed

A graceful dog almost twice taller than Lhasa Apso. They mostly come in white coat color and beautiful  spiky hair that hardly tangle. Their temperament can vary from very humble to very aggressive which is a general attribute of this breed from my own experience. They are quick to bite strangers when feeling threatened. This dog remains the most aggressive of all toy breeds.

Pekingese

This bulgy eyed dog breeds are funny looking dogs with long hairs almost sweeping the floor. Their character is very similar to Lhasa Apso but unlike Lhasa Apso has very manageable hair coat that rarely tangle. They come in various coat colors ranging from tan, black, white, cream etc. they are best indoors like Lhasa, very obedient and loyal to their owners and less aggressive to strangers.

American Eskimo

A breed generally mistaken for Japanese Spitz or Samoyed breeds for similar looks. They are smaller than Samoyed and Japanese Spitz with narrower face and snout but as aggressive as both. They come with white coat generally and very protective of their owners.

Pomeranian

I call this dog breed ‘the dancing dog’ because every movement made by this dog looks like ballet dance. Pomeranians have very funny facial expression that almost looks like a smile and can charm any dog lover. Predominantly appearing in tan spiky hair coat that is very easy to manage and other coat colors are also available. Pomeranians although loyal to their owners always want to feel independent from their owners and resent too much curdling.

Japanese Spitz

A very beautiful and aggressive breed with white spiky graceful looking white hair coat slightly bigger than American Eskimo but slightly smaller than Samoyed. Japanese spitz is one of the spitz group of breeds very protective of their owners. This breed also serve dual purpose as pet and security dog to alert against intruders.
