Overview:
The English Pointer is the ideal hunterââ¬â¢s companion. They also make excellent family pet as long as they get enough exercises. They are highly regarded by people who as a very reliable working dog. They are affectionate and loyal to their family. They need lots of exercise and can be considered for field sports.

Character:
These are friendly, livable, affectionate, and equable dogs which are intelligent, and obedient, that make first-class game pointers. (The dog stand absolutely still pointing towards will game birds as it catches their scent on the wind.)

The shoulder-height is o63 -69cm (24 ý - 27 ý 2in) for dogs and 61 ââ¬â 66cm (24 ââ¬â 26in)for bitches.

Temperament:
This breed get on well with their own kind with other household animals. They are also generally loving and patient with children and they are friendly towards both known and unknown people. They will get along fine with cats and other household animals if they have been introduced to them when young.
Coat:
The topcoat is short-haired while the undercoat is short and smooth. Pointers can have the following colour combinations: white and yellow, white and liver, and white and black. Three-coloured varieties are also permissible.
Care:
The grooming of this breed is simple. All that is required is to use a rubber brush during its moulting to remove dead and loose hairs.
Training:
The Pointer is a reasonably quick learner because the dog is intelligent enough to understand what you intend.
