Breed Description


General overview:

Breed without the group of French Braques or pointers include the Braque d’Auvergne, the Braque de Bourbonnais, the Braque Saint-Germain, and the Braque Fracais. These short-haired breed are principally used for field sport in their country of origin. Depending upon the specific breed, the shoulder-height is 48 – 68cm (18 ½ - 26 ½ 2in). That they make first-class household pets is unknown by all but a few. Their character is described as friendly, pliable, affectionate, intelligent, and obedient. These quick-on-the uptake pupils get are more benefit from harsh approach and are more successfully trained with a consistent and loving one. They get on fine with other dogs and are very friendly with children. Introducing them early to cats and other household animals prevents problems. Generally speaking, all of these breed need lots of exercise and activity. Work them as sporting dogs in the field which they enjoy tremendously but do not worry if this is not possible. Provided you make sure that they have plenty of exercise and things to occupy them, they will adapt to home life perfectly.
