Overview:

The Border Terrier is a brave and untiring dog that is lively and friendly. It is a good family yet very strong to a point that some people feel it can bring down a  horse and as such it requires a strong and confident handler with lots of exercise

Character:

The Border Terrier is a tenacious, brave, equable, stubborn, lively dog which is sportive and untiring. The breed can take a blow and is not sensitive to pain. It is loyal to it handler, patient with children, and adaptable.

33-40cm for dogs and 28-36cm for bitches

Character:

It gets on well with children. If you want it to get on with other dogs, cats, and other household animals, then it is essential to introduce them when it is young.


Coat:

The hard coat is thick with a dense under-layer. The recognized colours are red, wheaten, and grey with grey marking.

 

Care:

Groom them thoroughly at least once a week. Depending upon the condition of the coat, the Border terrier’s coat may need plucking occasionally but must never be trimmed! Plucking by hard removes old and excess hair

 

Training:

Training is relatively easy because the Border Terrier learn so quickly.
