The Newfoundland is a good-humoured dog with lots of care to give. It is straightforward and ideal for a family pet. It’s very suitable for people close to rivers

Good humored, sociable, gentle-natured straight forward, affectionate, and traceable, this breed is friendly with people and animals, loves to swim, is not particularly vigilant yet protects its family if it should become necessary. The New foundlander rarely barks, is self-assured, and has equable nature

Temperament:

Coat:

The Newfoundlander has a water resistant double, medium- length, greasy and dense coat. Permitted colours are brown are brown or black, with some with on the chest, toes and tip of the tail. Black and white Newfoundlander exist, but are seldom seen.        

 

Care:

Brush and comb this breed regularly with special attention to the hind quarters and other areas where tangles quickly from. Trim any excessive hair growth between the pads of the feet

 

Training:

Training must be conducted in a calm and well-balanced manner they are very sensitive to the tone of your voice.
