Overview:

The French Spaniel also known as Epagneul Français an ideal hunter’s companion. They also make excellent family pet as long as they get enough exercises. They are highly regarded by field sports people who will find it very reliable as a working dog. They are affectionate and loyal to their family.

Character:

These are lovable and affectionate dogs that are obedient, eager to learn, energetic yet calm in the home. The Epgneul Français has considerable stamina, a good scenting nose and generally barks little.

 

Height:

The shoulder-height is 55 – 61cm (21 ½ - 24in) for dogs and 54 – 59cm (21 ½ - 23 ½ 2in) for bitches.

 

Weight:

20.4-27.2kg

 

Temperament:

These dogs are friendly with everyone and anything, including other dogs, household animals, and children. They will bark though if they sense danger.

 

Coat:

The coat consists of medium-length or strongly wave fine hairs. The colour is always white with brown Patches, with or without or without brown spots.

 

Care:

 This breed needs to be groomed with brush and comb about once each week. Check the ear passage regularly to ensure they are clean and trim any excess hair between the pads of the feet.    

 

Training:

Training dog need a soft-handed but consistent approach. They like to please their handler so training is not very difficult.
