Overview:

The Lowchen also called the Little Lion Dog is an ideal family pet that learns quickly and loves to be around people. They have average demand for exercise and normally adapt to the family circumstances.

Temperament:

Coat:

The coat is long and wavy but should not be curl. Lowchen do not have undercoats. Any colour is acceptable.

 

Care:

Brush and comb the coat regularly to prevent tangles forming. This dog is usually clipped out in the breed-style regardless of whether they are to be shown. The hindquarters, the section of the tail closest to the body, part of the front legs are close-clipped. The coat does not shed hairs so any dead hairs are removed by brushing.

 

Training:

These dogs usually learn quickly and present little difficulty in their training.
