Breed Description


Overview:

The Tibetan Spaniel is an ideal family pet that is easy to train and quite intelligent. They do better when kept in good condition. They are not very demanding dogs.

Character:

These self-assured dogs are brave, vigilant, and cautious with strangers but they are not yappy. They are also blessed with a strong constitution and intelligence.

The shoulder-height is about 25cm (9 ½ cm)

Weight is 4 – 6.5kg (8 ½ - 14 ½ 2lb).

 

Temperament:

These dogs are lovable with children and can also get on well with other dogs and cats provided they have met them when they were young. They always warn of danger.

 

Coat:

The Tibetan Spaniel has a double, long, silken-haired coat.  Any colour is acceptable but the most common colour is golden.

 

Care:

The coat is fairly easy to care for. Bush the dog regularly and keep the ear passages clean.

 

Training:

Tibetan Spaniel are quite easily to train because they quickly grasp what you intend. Remain consistent with them because they can sometimes be obstinate.
